Grounding & Preparing Ourselves in Hard Times
If you feel the political changes resulting from the recent election are formidable, overwhelming or frightening, you are not alone.
Many sense that the upcoming proposed policies and practices will not be in alignment with our basic Christian values of justice, inclusivity, love and peace. Our faith tradition reminds us to speak truth to power and resist political and economic forces that harm the vulnerable.
So, how do we get grounded and participate as people of faith in this unfolding drama? How do we avoid isolation and resist fear?
How can our pain and sorrow be our companions as we continue to seek healing and serve others?
What specific actions can we take together? How do we strengthen and support one another? And how will we nurture and cultivate joy?
If these questions are of interest to you, please join us on Thursday, December 12 for a light supper and discussion from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Please RSVP by December 9, let us know of any dietary restrictions, and if you need childcare, by contacting http://mail to: office@riversideucc.com
It will be good to be together!
